This means that the oxygen reached the organs faster which means that organs like the brain, heart, and lungs could function better. Thanks to this aspect the blood pressure was more balanced and the cholesterol level decreased.
Considering that the alkaline water should decrease the acidity level from our bodies, people who suffer of acid reflux seem to improve their health status. None of these studies made everyone agree with the results and the effects of alkaline water but no one could completely contradict its promoters either.

According to its promoters, alkaline water should provide more chances to avoid a chronic disease such as cancer.
It should also have detox properties. This means that the alkaline water intake should provide a better hydration than regular water. A good hydration of your body will also bring along with it a better skin quality regarding its elasticity and glow.
A good hydration will also help a person to preserve or obtain a lower weight. This means that the alkaline water could be an ally when you are keeping a diet to lose weight.
You might obtain a better support for your immune system and that your digestion will be improved since it has cleansing properties.
Besides great effects, are there any bad effects?
You might think that it is only water. What side effects it could have? The main side effect I first thought of is that it might not have any effect at all.
Too many acids are bad but this does not mean that we do not need them. When we are healthy our bodies provide for us exactly what we need. Our stomach for example, has a natural acidity which has a very important role to kill germs and bacteria that are noxious for us.
Disturbing the natural balance of this acidity could not bring good things. Too much of something will not bring good news.
We also have a pH level that, in normal conditions, should not be disturbed either. If you overdo with the alkaline water consumption you might experience things like hand tremors, nausea, or vomiting episodes.
When you exaggerate with it things could become more serious and you might pass through confusion episodes.
Do you find alkaline water in nature?
Yes, you can find alkalized water in nature and I believe that this is the best source and the less harmful. The mountain springs’ water is a natural alkalized type of water filled with minerals.
However, you can find artificially alkalized water, produced through different techniques, which according to its manufacturers do not contaminate the natural water at all. If you choose this type of water I will personally double-check the source.
Which are the main worries?
In the end, you might want to know if alkaline water is safe or not to consume. Even if I mentioned a few side effects a wide consumption could bring, in reality, these side effects are quite rare.
Even the opponents of the alkaline water consumption aren’t worried about these side effects too much. The main things with which they do not agree are the wonderful benefits that its promoters claim it brings.
Can you alkalize water at home?
There are online video tutorials that could help you to accomplish this process. The main thing that you should assure yourself of, is to not contaminate your water during the entire process.
If you thought is too complicated, it is quite easy. All you have to do is add a bit of baking soda or lemon juice and you will alkalize the water from your glass.
With all these things being said, you are the only one who could decide which type of water is better for you. However, I believe that you should not exaggerate.
The alkaline water will not provide for you as many minerals as regular mineral water will. Those minerals are important for your body and a lack of minerals could cause a natural balance disturbance.
