We can define a “friend” as the person with whom you spend your free time, who is with you when you need it, who listens to you and helps you. Friends are an important element in everybody’s life and for this it is obligatory to know how to make friends.
How to influence people and make friends
For starters, let me explain what I mean by influencing someone. That does not mean you can control someone and tell them what to do. Influencing someone, means being with someone and having the ability to advise him when he needs it.
You also need to learn to make a difference between friends and acquaintances, and for that you need to strengthen your interpersonal relationships.
It’s relatively easy to make friends, but if you want to keep it you need to do more than just be with a juice or a movie. Consider the following tips if you want to make friends and keep them.
Tips for making friends
It is the most important thing. There’s no point in lying about who you really are, where you are and what you’re doing. True friends should know who you really are, and if they mislead them at some point they will do it and it will not be too good.
For starters, learn to love, then look for friends.
A normal thing you have to do when trying to make friends; at school or at work. If you’re always upset and nervous, nobody wants to talk to you. The other people like funny and funny people, and if you stay upset all day, it’s gonna be hard for someone to get close to you.
Meet new people
To make friends in a new city, you need to go to places with many people. If you stay in the house and watch TV, play on the computer or isolate yourself from the others, you will not get anywhere. Find people who think the same as you, with common interests, and you’ll see how your circle of friends grows.
Try to make a network of friends. You can meet new people with your existing friends. For this, you can use sites like Facebook, but you can also personally meet your friends’ friends at a party or a small meeting in town. Do not exaggerate with virtual social life because this can lead to isolation.
Take the initiative
You do not have to be afraid to take the initiative and organize a meeting or party to meet new people. If you’re afraid to communicate with people you do not know, you’ll never be able to make new friends.
