What is ionized water?
Ionized water is water with mineral ions in its composition. The minerals from it became ionized right at the moment when they gain or lose electrons.
All water found in nature is ionized to some extent. Ionized water is also known as Electrolyzed Reduced Water since it has been proved that it can reduce the effects of oxidation.
Moreover, the process called Oxidation Reduction Potential is known for the ionized alkaline water’s skill of reducing oxidative destruction.
Oxidation, on the other hand, is a process that appears when an acidic matter covers up the electrons from a substance. Usually, this process will harm or destroy a substance.
For example, it turns cut apples to a brown color, and metal to rust. Ionized water, however, is significantly reducing oxidation every time.
How is ionized water made
Tap water is a combination of two types of ions, mineral ions (calcium, magnesium, and potassium), and bicarbonate ions. The two types of minerals are proved to possess a positive electromagnetic charge.
Bicarbonate is dispersed CO2, and it’s created at the moment when CO2 is absorbed by water from the air; it has, however, a negative electromagnetic charge.
Home water ionizers, on the other hand, need electromagnetism to split the negatively charged bicarbonate minerals from the other positively charged.
Water ionizers have some charged plates which turn into magnets, and supposedly they create an attraction between the ions with an opposite charge. After that process, the ions go through a structure named Bipolar Exchange Membrane, which permits ions to go further through it.
The membrane doesn’t let other types of particles to pass. The ion split action turns both alkaline and acidic waters at the same time since the membrane splits the minerals from the bicarbonate.
Finally, that process turns the water inside the alkaline part onto alkaline water, then the water inside the acidic part onto acidic water.
