Consuming chocolate during pregnancy
Dark candy can be a good friend during pregnancy, but it can also turn into an enemy if you are not cautious.
Here’s how you need to consume chocolate, to satisfy your appetite, but also not to make excess:
- Choose chocolate carefully! Black chocolate is indicated. Maybe it’s not as good as milk or stuffing, but it’s beneficial due to its low calorie content.
- Keep track of your chocolate consumption! You can make a table with the number of chocolates or the amount your doctor has recommended. Thus, you will know when to stop because you will see if you have reached or not the limit allowed.
- You do not have to eat more than is indicated! Even if lusts do not give you peace, try to limit yourself to what you have been prescribed. Any extra amount means more fat and caffeine in your body.
- If you suffer from gestational diabetes you should avoid chocolate as much as possible! It is characterized by an increased blood glucose level. Therefore, chocolate consumption can endanger your baby and your health.
