You don’t know if you will be a good mom for your own baby. You cannot stop reading all the articles about how your baby will behave after he will be born and all the things you must do to keep him safe and sound. If these are your worries, you may want to pay a little more attention to the following rows of this article. You will be able to learn more about how your child will develop month by month and which the main things you should worry during his growing process are. You will see that once you give birth most all these things will come naturally and nothing will seem too difficult for you.

Baby’ first month

When the baby finally arrives into this world, he will be taken care of by the medical personal. Even if he will obtain a good grade immediately after his birth this does not mean that certain health problems are eliminated. This is maybe the most vulnerable stage of their lives. They are struggling to adapt to the outside world and the impact can bring many unwanted problems. This is one of the reasons why you cannot give birth and go home just like that. He must receive for a few days, at least, the medical care that he needs so you will not encounter any type of problems later.

During his first month of life you will be amazed about your baby’ instincts. You will not have to teach him how to feed, or how to announce you that something is wrong. He is able to do all that. He can recognize your voice and he is very familiar with your heartbeats. You voice and the warmth of your body sometimes, are the only things that can calm him down.

Second month baby

After the first month, you are already familiarized with the new member of your family. Even if you may think that things will be much easier from now on, things are not like that for everyone. Other worries will show up every day. You must check if he urinates properly or if he eliminates feces every day. Also you must figure out if he feeds himself properly. The ideal type of food is breast milk. Sometimes it may not be enough. You must keep a very strong relationship with your doctor so you will know exactly when a problem emerges. You must weigh him periodically so you can assure yourself that he has the proper weight according with his age.

If in his first month of life, a baby must be fed each three hours, and between meals, he usually sleeps, when he reaches two months old, he starts changing his schedule along with yours. He starts smiling, babbles more often, he stays awake longer than he use to do, he sleeps longer during the night, he shows you when he is happy or not, he can sustain his head better, he can stare for a few seconds at all the things around him and he becomes very curious about all the things and noises that surround him.

Third month baby

When a baby reaches three months old all the things enumerated above will became even more obvious. Besides these things, he will start doing other new things as well. You will see with your own eyes how fast your child develops certain skills and how fast he is growing. He will start playing with his feet and hands. He will have his first attempts to go on all fours. His will be able to sustain his head up longer periods. He will also enjoy better to play with his toys or other objects that surround him. He will smile more often and you can recognize that this is what makes your day better. Some babies don’t stop just at smiling. They start to laugh loudly. This is a period of his life when he starts to discover his own body, and this is fascinating for him. His feet and hands will become his favorite toys for the moment.

Fourth month baby

You cannot believe that this is the fourth month of your baby’ life. In these four months everything changed into your life as well. But, this article is not about you. This is about your baby and his monthly changes. In this period you will notice that he is able to improve all the other skills he gained in time. What it is developing more and more, is his curiosity and his need to communicate somehow with the others. He is more aware that he wants and needs adults’ attention. Because of that, he starts to claim it loudly. If until now his main meal was milk, now it is the perfect time to start to diversify the baby’s meals. You must ask your pediatrician how to do it, and which aliments are the best to start with. Until now, his digestive system was not ready to digest solid food. Now it developed enough to be able to do it. Your baby may not be too delighted by these changes, which is perfectly normal, but you must not give up.

Fifth month baby

This is maybe, for many parents, the nightmare month. Unfortunately, this is not only for the parents. The child may suffer more than any adult can bear. At many babies, when they reach five months old, their first teeth may show up. This is maybe one of the most painful experiences possible for any human being. Scientists say that an adult cannot bear such pains but babies can. You should not see this age only from this perspective. Great and wonderful things happen as well. Your attention will be more required, however, because your baby will become more active. He will want to take with his own hands certain objects and he may become upset when he will not be able to.

He is able to recognize all his family members with ease and he will not be as friendly with strangers as he used to be. He will start rolling from one side to another and he will say his first vowels and consonants. Another bad thing is that he will start to taste everything he can hold.

Sixth month

This is the age when your attention as a parent becomes a priority. Your baby is very briskly. He rolls spontaneously, when you do not expect it, he holds things with his both hands, he start to crawl on his belly so he can reach certain places. You should know that at this age your bay should not be left alone. His curiosity develops each day and this may not be too safe for him if he is alone in a room. Your baby even if he is very small, he is very smart as well. He will be able to speculate every small mistake from your part. He will not do it just to upset you but to satisfy his curiosity.

Seventh month

When your baby reaches this age, he will try to communicate more and more with you. Because the connection between the mother and the baby is the biggest connection between two people, he really feels the need to spend more and more time with her. He trusts his mom more than he can ever trust anyone. You must spend time with him playing and teaching him how to communicate with you. You must allow him to initiate a dialog and you must answer him through words. He will show the first signs that he wants to walk on his feet even if he will not be able to. This is the age when he starts realizing what being alone means and he will certainly not like it. He wants his dear ones close.

Even if he was never abandoned, this feeling comes from inside and no one has a control over it. This is the reason why a 7-month-old child may start crying when his mother lives the room. This does not mean that you must stay with him constantly. As a mother you must explain your disappearing from the room or from the house with calm so he will accept your explanations so he will respond in a positive manner.

Eighth month

As it was mentioned earlier, babies may become less responsive and friendly with strangers from very early ages. At eight months things can become more serious. It was written above that you must prepare your baby when you intend to leave the house for a while. It was also mentioned that you should not leave your baby alone, because it is pretty dangerous. What you should do in this situation? You must find a person to leave your baby with, that he agrees with. This should not be such a difficult task. Usually a person from your family, whom he likes playing with, is the best choice possible.

Ninth month

Your baby development is increasing every day. Some babies will feel the need to walk faster than others will. Some of them will make their first steps at this specific age. Most of them will start later, but as you may already know, each baby is different, just as adults. They develop in their own rhythm. The only thing you can do, as a parent is to be there for him to help him understand this world easier. You should also pay attention to his alimentation. His diversification begins at the age of four months and it ends when he reaches one year old. Until that age, we must have tried almost every aliment possible. I want to underline here, that anything related to your child nutrition must be discussed with his pediatrician.

Tenth month

You will discover that you have a very naughty child. He will not stay still to change his diapers. He likes to play with you and he may also like to be naked. Also, he will start protesting when it is the time to eat. Some parents say that a baby must eat at certain hours no matter if he wants it or not. Others will consider that if the baby is hungry, he will eat and if not, they will not force him. From my personal experience, when my baby did not liked something, you could never convince him to eat. What I discovered after 16 years is that the foods he refused then, he is still refusing now after all these years.

Eleventh month

This is certainly the age when you baby starts walking. You will have some back pains because of that. Once he will discover that if he is held by hands he can use properly his feet, he will never want something else. He wants to be like you and like all the other adults around him. He also has the idea that if he is able to stand on his feet he can reach all those places that he couldn’t in the past. His curiosity grows and also his communication skills develops even more. He will be able to say intelligible words. This means that you will know exactly what he says. Your vigilance must increase as well. If you were happy that you could sleep longer during the night, his wish to reach his walking goal is bigger than you may think. This means, that in the middle of the night you may find your baby practicing in his crib.

Twelfth month

How does it feel to see your baby now, so tall and happy? Do you remember how small and helpless he was twelve months ago? You certainly do. You have in front of your eyes now a strong personality, happy and well developed baby. You believed that it will be hard, but you did not even felt how these twelve months passed by you. You were too busy taking care of your treasure.

Conclusions:

Month by month, your baby grows and he surprises you each day with new things. Things that you may never believed such a small child could do. They have abilities and knowledge since their first day on this world. You should never underestimate your child and your power to help him and control the situation. Even if things may seem a little hard at the beginning, you will see that the natural connection between you and your baby will ease this important job, namely the mom job.
