Streaming services and video-on-demand services are on trend in recent years. Hulu is one of them and is keeping up with its competition. In this Hulu Reviews article, we’ll see together if Hulu is better or not in comparison to other popular streaming services.
What is Hulu?
To put it in the most simple way, Hulu is a membership site designed to offer its members access to huge content from TV shows and series to Anime and Art-movies.
Hulu is already a classic among streaming services and video-on-demand services being on market since 2007 (with a different name, back then). Now, Hulu is owned by Hulu LLC., a joint venture with 21st Century Fox, Walt Disney Co., Time Warner, and Comcast.
Even though it is offering full-length movies, anime and a bunch of other content, Hulu is focusing on TV shows and TV series. Therefore, if you’re a TV series big fan, Hulu is the best place to be in order to watch your favorite episodes of your favorite TV show.
You may have heard about Hulu Plus and its limited free membership access. Now, Hulu Plus is down completely and Hulu is the company’s main player.
To get access to Hulu’s database of movies, TV series, anime, and so on, you’d have to pay $5.99 per month for the first year, after a trial period of 30 days, and $7.99 thereafter.
There is also a more costly membership, the Hulu plus Live TV memberships which costs $39.99 per month, after 7 days of FREE access.
This is, actually the complete Hulu experience, if you need a Live TV.
Additionally, HBO, CineMax and ShowTime extra channels may be added, at the extra prices of $4/add-on, to any subscription plan.
In terms of subscription costs, Hulu is not much different in comparison to Netflix, their fierce competitor.
