What steroids actually are?
Steroids are synthetic substances similar to the male sex hormone testosterone. These steroids are focusing on the growth of the muscle tissue, most of the times used as a faster way to “get bigger”.
Not everyone wants to keep a strict diet and go to gym daily. There are people who think that taking steroids is a better way to get more muscles.
Actually, steroids have many side effects, everybody knows that with a drug-free high-protein diet and a strict training regimen you will be healthier and in the end you will have bigger muscles than someone who uses steroids most of the times.
Steroids side effects
Talking about the side effects of using steroids, it can lead to a cardiovascular complication because it may weaken the myocardium and it could even cause a heart muscle disorder.
During the use of steroids, ligaments and tendons are at a bigger risk of damaging or even tearing. The risks are big, as an example, for women, it could alter the natural body shape which will lead to a straightened and atrophied muscle structure.
In addition, the steroids use have many indirect effects, they give you so much power and energy that insomnia will probably make its appearance. Training your muscles will be difficult on the use of steroids because it may give you achy joints, vomiting and nausea.
Legal and illegal steroids
There are two types of steroids, the legal and the illegal ones. Anabolic steroids, also called anabolic-androgenic steroids (AASs) are the illegal ones.
There are 32 types of illegal steroids, all of them are helping to build muscles and improve athletic performance. The risks of taking the AASs are bigger.
Heart problems, unwanted physical changes, aggression, acne, fluid retention and hair growth or loss are only a few of the side effects that can appear if you use these types of steroids incorrectly.
