As you can see, our liver is very important. It can influence the functions of all organs.

If you don’t take good care of your liver’ health you may have to face the consequences. These consequences are far from being easy to bear them. A malfunctioning liver can cause a slow and silent poisoning of your entire body. You will not even notice this at the beginning. Most all liver illnesses are silent and deadly. No one say that you will not have signs to help you discover these issues in time but most all symptoms can be confused with many other disorders less dangerous. This is the main reason why people can ignore them for a while.

Nevertheless, you may wonder how this poisoning process works. Thanks to the fact that our liver will no longer be able to filter the toxins from our organism, they will pass them to all the other organs including in our blood. That poisoned blood will cross our entire body, heart, lungs, kidneys etc.  This way other health problems will appear. As it was already mentioned earlier, there are various symptoms, that can be associated with poor liver functioning. If you feel tired all the time, it may be the beginning of a liver disease also known as liver steatosis. It is also called fatty liver disorder. As the name suggests this happens when your liver swims literally in fat. An increased bad cholesterol value can show us that. Usually an obese person can have this problem but it is not a rule. This type of disease does not show up at an alcoholic person. You know that there is a myth that says that only alcoholics have liver problems. Not only them are exposed to this problem.

Liver steatosis can increase the risks of diabetes appearance because the pancreas is not able to function properly and to release enough insulin into our bodies. Beside diabetes, you can also develop heart illnesses. Other signs that prove you can suffer of liver steatosis are sudden weight loss or abdominal pains. If you have all of them, you must request a liver checkup from your doctor as fast as possible.

If you have symptoms that can be associated with the flu and if you also notice that you have black stool could be the main signs that you suffer of hepatitis. Hepatitis can be of different types. Hepatitis A, B and C are the most common types known of this disease. No matter which type you may have, the consequences can be very serious for your liver and for your entire organism. Usually the presence of this illness, especially hepatitis B or C, is very silent and the signs may show up in very advanced stages of the disease.

If you notice that your skin color start to change and turns into yellow and also your eyes seem to have the same shade it may mean that you liver has problems with its filtering system which may lead to jaundice or to hepatitis as well.

What can we do to maintain your liver healthy?

Everything starts with a healthy way of eating. You read everywhere about how important is to consume less fried products or less processed food. All the canned food and the one filled with preservatives are not recommended no matter if you have or don’t have health issues. Not only fat or alcoholic persons can have livers disorders or any other type of disorders. This does not mean that you must exclude certain categories of foods. Proteins, carbohydrates, or fats must be included in your daily menu. The way you eat them and combine them is the key to a healthy nutrition.

The detox diets can help our liver, if you don’t make them a life style. All of us know that detox diets stands in consuming lots of liquids. You can introduce between those green vegetables and fruit juices, herbal teas made from certain plants that can help your liver detoxify itself. These detox diets must be kept twice or not more than three times per year. The best period of choosing to keep one is when seasons change.

These herbal teas can be consumed all the time, no matter what you eat, if you are on a diet or not.  You should avoid certain substances such as alcohol, too much coffee ingestion or smoking. All these things will only make livers’ work more difficult and it will become tired.

Not only what we ingest or our vices can cause liver damage. Negative emotions, stress, the lack of sleep, too many hours spent at work are just a few of the external factors that can have a huge impact on our health. You may say that considering our lives these days and this permanent struggle to put bread on the table, it is practically impossible to release ourselves from all these external factors. There are ways to improve our state of mind and to improve the way we rest our bodies. Outdoor physical exercises and meditation sessions can do wonders for us.

All these things enumerated above can maintain our liver healthy or it can help it regenerate. As you can see, it stands in your power to do so. Temptations are everywhere but you must dictate for yourself. You must prove that you are stronger than they are.
