Most likely you have heard of Bali recently as a paradise on Earth. The golden and unspoiled beaches of Bali, along with a quite active nightlife and the seaside resorts, are the main tourist attractions in Bali.
Behind the turmoil of tourists and temples, you will discover a mystical place surrounded by active volcanoes and endless bohemian spaces where you can stretch yourself.
But as it happens usually when traveling to a new location, you will have to know a few things before going to Bali. Here is a short list with the tips for traveling to Bali.
Get a scooter, as the roads are crowded
The traffic is usually jamming between the South and the Center of the island. That affects unaware tourists, and because of the crowded roads many of them will not reach as many touristic attractions as possible, plus that many do not want to spend 3 hours in a car just to reach their destinations.
If you look on Google Maps, you can see that the island has a length of 100 km and you go through it in a maximum of 2 hours. Who would have thought that you actually make that 100 km in about 4-5 hours?
Traffic is, as I said above, a total chaos, and 90% of the main roads have a striking band, completely blocked by cars in the queue, and on the side of the road, between cars, between lanes and sidewalks, there are scooters advancing gloriously. Everyone is dressed head to toe, despite the heat.
So if you’ve driven a scooter and you’re used to drive it between cars, it’s the perfect way to move around in Bali. It is also an authentic experience, as you’ll feel all the regions’ energies traveling through your skin, feel smells of food and chopsticks, and see locals who are a few centimeters away from you, on other scooters, smiling with warmth.
