Vacations To Go Reviews – Should You Book Cruises on the Go?

Senior Editor, TipsHire

Have you already made vacation plans? If you haven’t, you might still be able to get a great last minute deal. Just don’t book anything through websites like Vacations To Go before doing your homework. Yes, last minutes deals are a great way to save money and enjoy unforgettable vacations.

However, precisely because you book your vacation at the last minute, it is important to do your research and make sure the company you book it with is reliable. You also need to double check total costs and services included.

More and more travel agencies lure customers with incredible prices and end up charging them extra, or promise services that are never included. If you don’t want to go through something like that, it is important to take the time and find out exactly what you are buying, from whom, at what price, and under what circumstances.

About Vacations To Go

This travel agency works mostly through its similarly named website. It calls itself America’s clearinghouse for discount cruises. They seem to have been on the market ever since 1984, and claim to have served over six million customers throughout this period.

They actually claim to have invented last-minute deals, by negotiating huge discounts with major cruise lines for the cabins left unsold close to departure date, in exchange for the exclusivity and confidentiality of the company’s client list.

Vacations To Go takes great pride in their bonding and accreditation, in being a member of the ARC (Airlines Reporting Corporation, IATAN (International Airlines Travel Agent Network), and CLIA (Cruise Line International Association).

They claim to have achieved the highest recognition from all major cruise lines in the world, and they post thousands of positive reviews on their website. The Better Business Bureau confirms these claims, rating the company with A+, and posting over 400 positive reviews, as opposed to approximately 40 closed complaints.

Vacations To Go is a Vacation Publications, Inc. subsidiary. The latter company specializes in books, magazines, and reports for the mature and travel markets. They are among the top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in America, according to Inc. magazine.

Unfortunately, not all that glitters is gold, and not all that looks promising delivers on that promise. The rule seems to apply to this particular company and the services it provides. While they claim to be one of the most reliable companies on the market and provide some of the best services in their line of business, many of their clients assure otherwise.

You would think the over 26,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews on their website would be enough to ensure an awesome reputation. Think again! Their reputation is awesome only on their own website. Everywhere else, it is poor to average. Thus, their Highya rating is 2.5/5 stars, their Consumer Affairs rating is 1.9/5 stars, and their Yelp rating is 3/5 stars.

How to Use Vacations to Go

Finding and booking vacations with this company is as easy as browsing their website. A complete list of their last-minute cruises is available with a simple click of the 90-Day Ticker button on the left of their homepage. These deals are the most affordable, but you need to act fast, as they are only available for a few days, rarely more than one week.
